Camp Drewe is a charity-run coastal camp on five acres of heathland between Seven Mile Beach and Lake Ainsworth — a place where schools, churches, families and community groups come to learn, rest and belong.

Our mission

A camp with a purpose,
not a price tag.

Camp Drewe exists to give children, young people, families and community groups an affordable place to camp, learn and belong — on five acres of coastal heathland at Lennox Head, a short walk from the surf and the tea-tree waters of Lake Ainsworth.

We are the Northern Rivers Conference Centre, a registered Australian charity. Every dollar that comes through our gate goes back into keeping camp accessible for the schools, churches and community groups who have called this place their own for over fifty years.

The land

Five acres of banksia and heath, 200 metres from the sand of Seven Mile Beach and 600 metres from Lake Ainsworth. The bush does half the teaching here — tides, tea-tree water, and sky that goes on forever.

The people

School classes on their first night away from home. Church youth finding their voice. Families, craft groups, sporting clubs and charities who need room to breathe. Children, teenagers, parents and grandparents — camp is for everyone.

The purpose

We are a registered charity, not a business. Since 1972 this place has been run so that cost is never the reason a child misses camp. That is still the measure of every decision we make.
